Tom Russ, MBChB, PhD, Clinical Lecturer in Old Age Psychiatry at the University of Edinburgh, UK, completed a study showing geeographic variations in dementia rates, with higher rates in northern parts of two countries compared to the south. He identifies some possible risk factors that he and his collaborators are investigating.
