Tom Russ, MBChB, PhD, Clinical Lecturer in Old Age Psychiatry at the University of Edinburgh, UK, recently published a study on geographic variations in dementia rates in Sweden and in Scotland, where rates were higher in the north than in the south. Where people were born was not important but where they lived later in life was.
